Ryehill

Ryehill is a new master-planned community in Richmond, minutes from Sugar Land off Highway 59. It is planned for roughly 2,500 homes at buildout, and Taylor Morrison - the builder Tamika toured - has new models open now with pricing from the mid $300s.

Tamika drove down 59 to walk this one herself. There are several builders in Ryehill and she didn't have time for all of them in one trip, so she stopped at Taylor Morrison - and called it nothing short of excellence.

The detail she wants you to see in that model: his-and-her showers. Two showers in one bathroom, so nobody is waiting on anybody to get ready in the morning. It's a small thing that tells you where this builder's head is at.

Location is the other selling point. Ryehill sits close to Brazos Town Center and Sugar Land Town Center, with an H-E-B and a Target nearby - Tamika's personal favorite.

Taylor Morrison builds four collections here, on 40, 45, 50, and 60 foot lots, so the same community covers a first home and a move-up home. Plans run from 1,612 square feet up to 3,970, with 3 to 6 bedrooms, and homes are zoned to the top-rated Lamar Consolidated ISD.

The amenity plan is what sets this one apart. Ryehill is designed around a 7,000 square foot logo-shaped pool with cabanas, a 2,300 square foot lazy river, and a separate 800 square foot adult oasis pool, plus a splash pad. Beyond the water there is a fitness center, a great room with an outdoor patio and kitchen, four pickleball courts with shaded stadium seating, a whiffle ball field, an open sports field, a playground, walking trails, and a mounded lawn stage with food truck parking and a string-lit beer garden.
